4 Month Appointment - Part 137

Tomorrow is our next 4 month appointment. (This drama is dragging out longer than The Lord of the Rings trilogy. : ) Wish us luck. All the blood tests have come back normal so far. The next step, should she still be failing to gain wait, will be to start visiting specialists. Today as I was feeding Cora her cereal and squash (yuck!), I was thinking about our appointment and trying to fathom what God's plan is for this situation. It just doesn't seem to make sense, but who am I to try to comprehend God's infinite wisdom and perfect will. So, I began to think of all the things in this situation that I am thankful for. Here goes:
  1. I am thankful that God loves Cora even more than I do. His love for her is unfathomable.
  2. I am thankful that God has blessed me with this beautiful baby.
  3. I am thankful that there are so many people around us lifting us up in prayer.
  4. I am thankful each and every time someone tells me about how they went through the same thing with their own child.
  5. I am thankful that I live in a place where I have access to great doctors and great healthcare.
  6. I am thankful that I have insurance to cover the costs of the tests and doctor visits.
  7. I am thankful that my child is not a picky eater like her mom. (See previous paragraph about cereal and squash!)
  8. I am thankful that there are people who are willing and able to give babies shots/draw blood/and all the other things that are difficult to even do to adults.
  9. I am thankful for each and every smile, coo, laugh, giggle, roll, reach, touch, sit, stand, hug, and kiss from sweet Cora.

I know that there are so many more things that I need to add to this list. So, no matter if there is good news or bad tomorrow, I am thankful for these things and so much more. All whom I have spoken with have all but guaranteed that it is likely nothing, and I tend to feel that way, too. I'm sure most of my anxiety about the situation comes from being a new mom. I'll let you know how our appointment goes..
