Little peanut had her three year check-up last week. My little dynamo is up to a whopping 25 pounds and 35 inches. This puts her at about the 2nd percentile for weight and the 8th percentile for height. I'm always pleased and relieved to see that she has continued on her own little growth curve. She did great in just about every aspect of her check-up, even patiently enduring a hearing test which she easily passed. My only concern remains her speech. We did receive a referral for a speech evaluation. It is likely a simple tongue placement issue that is preventing her from forming her hard c's and g's correctly, and we will know after next week what, if anything, is the appropriate course of action. I feel like it's a bit of a catch-22, though. If, in fact, this is not something she will naturally grow out of, I certainly don't want it to fossilize in her little mind. But, I sometimes feel like her precious childhood is zooming by. Losing her quirky pronunciation would be just one more sign that she is growing up.
sigh How I love this little pixie!
