Parenting Lesson #364

Y'all, you should always lock the keys on your cell phones.

Witness the events that took place as we were packing to go to Yia Yia and Dado's for Christmas.

Parents in the bedroom packing; Cora in the living room playing with toys.
John:  Do you know where my tie is?
Me:  Hmm, I'm not really sure.  Is it with the clothes on the bed?
From the living room, we hear muffled voices coming from a cell phone.
Cora: Uh, oh!
Silence. . .
Parents run to the living room. . .
Cell phone rings. . .
John:  Hello?
Operator:  This is 911 dispatch we received a hang-up call from this number.  Is everything okay?

Yeesh! Somehow Cora managed to dial 911 on John's phone. We're not really sure exactly how.  But, we are grateful to the dispatcher who was so patient and understanding.  No more cell phone for Cora!

Oh no! That's hilarious!! Daniel accidentally called the police from his cell the other day, so it's not just a toddler thing :)

dear husband was away with the army and my 3 year old was using a phone that had not been charged in 8 months. she had been pretending to call daddy for 2 weeks. one night my other daughter said mom, Grace is talking to some one. for 5 minutes i said SH we are watching this movie she is not talking. Then i look over and notice the phone has a light on. i took the phone and very rudely said "who is this and how are you talking to my fault" like it was there fault.
the voice said "mam, this huntsville police is something wrong, i said " i am sorry i did not know the phone was on she thought she was talking to her dad who is deployed i mean away at school, i am so sorry. he interupted me and said mam it is okay.
i was so embarased
