And, Again I Say Rejoice!

Cora had her 15 month appointment this morning, and I am just rejoicing here! Tiny-might has finally creeped back onto the growth chart. I am not ashamed to say that Dr. Mitchell and I both did a little happy dance when we realized where she was.

Her stats are:
  • Weight: 20lbs, 3 oz/15th percentile!! (OMGOODNESS, there are actually babies smaller than her now!!)
  • Height: 28 1/2 inches/10th percentile!!
  • Head: 46.2 cm/50th percentile. . .giant brains, we hope!!

The 15 month newsletter for parents says that the slowdown in the growth rate "may change the look of your child form a baby with plump 'baby fat' on the arms, legs, and face to a leaner, more muscular toddler." Ha! Dr. Mitchell and I were cheering and high-fiving because little missy finally is a bit of a butterball! (Okay, maybe I exaggerate the level of celebrating, but we were both very happy!) Thank you sweet Jesus, for our little butterball! ☺ Everything developmentally continues to register as normal. Thank you, thank you, Jesus!

The appointment did take a bit of a sharp downturn when poor nurse Kathleen came in to give us the shots. . .4 of them, including the flu shot. Oy! It was not pretty! Gagged up goldfish crackers and water everywhere. But, I am thankful to get the shots and am grateful for the protection they offer! We are in the clear with no more weight checks or extra appointments until 18 months. Yippee and a-woo-hoo!
